A Day of Shifting Light Along the St. Croix River

Discover Unexpected Beauty in the Simplest of Scenes

In this video, I take you on a winter hike along the St. Croix River Trail in Minnesota. The day was a constant battle between clouds and sun, creating fleeting moments of beautiful light that I desperately tried to capture.

I focused on finding pockets of interest within the landscape, looking for light and shadows, and overall interesting compositions. While the sun played hard to get, I managed to capture some interesting scenes, from sun-dappled pockets to a fun pic of a blackbird, and even a glimpse of the moon in the daytime.

The trail offered a mix of woodland and prairie, including in a scenic overlook and a cozy shelter where we enjoyed a break. Along the way, I share my thoughts and struggles as well as photos captured.
